Victor “Doc Shebeleza” Bogopane, an iconic kwaito musician, was celebrated for his remarkable contributions to the South African music industry during a heartfelt memorial service held on Wednesday, 15 January, at SABC Radio Park in Johannesburg.

Doc Shebeleza, who passed away at the age of 51 on Thursday, 9 January, was remembered as a talented artist, a loving family man, and a mentor.

Friends, family, and colleagues gathered to pay their respects, celebrating his legacy as the man behind timeless hits such as *Ebumnandini*.

The memorial service served as a platform for sharing fond memories and offering tributes to the beloved musician.

The event saw a diverse turnout of prominent figures, including politicians, actors, and fellow musicians.

Notable attendees included Freddy Gwala, Abigail Kubeka, Sipho Mabuza, Ihhashi Elimhlophe, Nhlanhla Lux, TK Nciza, Cassper Nyovest, Arthur Mafokate, and DJ Sbu.

Doc Shebeleza will be laid to rest on Saturday, 18 January. A funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. at the Old Apostolic Church, and he will be buried at West Park Cemetery’s Heroes Acres.
